Bandai Namco has officially announced the upcoming release of BLEACH Mirrors High, a brand-new mobile gaming entry in the celebrated franchise. Scheduled for a worldwide launch in Summer 2026, the title will be available on both iOS and Android platforms. This announcement marks a significant expansion for the series in the mobile space, promising a high-quality experience backed by the direct creative supervision of the original author.
In a rare level of hands-on participation for a licensed game, Bleach creator Tite Kubo released a message detailing his deep involvement in the project starting from the very first kickoff meeting. Kubo confirmed that he personally worked on the title, the scenario, and the character designs. His enthusiasm for the project was reportedly so high that he ended up producing more character designs than requested. Furthermore, Kubo took charge of the logo design and personally oversaw voice actor auditions and recording sessions. Perhaps most exciting for long-time fans is his confirmation that the game’s story will be partly related to the main scenario of the original comics, bridging the gap between the source material and this new interactive medium.
This new project arrives during a massive resurgence for the franchise, which remains one of the most influential properties in the history of Japanese pop culture. Tite Kubo’s original manga began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in August 2001 and quickly ascended to become one of the “Big Three” of the 2000s, alongside One Piece and Naruto. The story follows Ichigo Kurosaki, a teenager who absorbs the powers of a Soul Reaper to defend humanity from evil spirits known as Hollows. The manga’s stylish art and high-octane battles propelled it to over 130 million copies sold worldwide.
The franchise’s animated adaptation, produced by Studio Pierrot, originally aired from 2004 to 2012, becoming a global gateway anime. After a decade-long hiatus, the anime returned triumphantly in 2022 to adapt the final story arc, The Thousand-Year Blood War, reigniting global interest. BLEACH Mirrors High appears poised to capitalize on this renewed momentum, offering fans a canonical extension of the universe that defined the shonen genre for nearly two decades.
