How to Avoid Odin’s Zantetsuken and Emerge Victorious in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Odin Zantetsuken Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Odin is one of the most powerful summons, not just in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but in all of Final Fantasy, thanks to his ultimate ability and finisher, Zantetsuken, which is enough to clear the stage of any monsters and sometimes even bosses. However, if you’re here, I’m sure you know that in this case, this attack is being used against you while battling him in Final Fantasy VII’s Combat Simulator.

Before anything else, you need to know that Odin will use Zantetsuken under one of two conditions: either he is dealing more damage than you are or you are taking a long time to even make a dent at him, in which he will give you a warning that he is bored and about to use Zantetsuken by performing Gjallarhorn’s Warning. Once you see that, you’re as good as done. But here is the most effective strategy you need to employ.

Have Cloud as your main character and choose other ranged characters to support you. Equip Cloud with Phoenix just in case you need a Raise if he ends up using it, but in my case, I didn’t even need it. Then, all you need to do is put Cloud in Punisher Mode and continue to parry him. Almost all his attacks are parryable, and you will easily fill the stagger gauge and stagger him. The rest is just raining hell on him so he has nothing left to live for. Don’t worry if he succeeds in splitting your party after that. Just summon Phoenix and continue the fight. Even if he succeeds in using Zantetsuken, Phoenix will be there to save you and finish the fight.

Check the video below for how to do it, Happy hunting!
