Visions of Mana is promised to return to the series action RPG roots and take players on a new adventure with protagonist Val, a soul guard assigned to protect his childhood friend, who has been chosen by the Faerie as the Alm of Fire to travel to the Tree of Mana and rejuvenate the mana flow.

Vision of Mana also marks the return of its original creator, Koichi Ishii, known for his last installment, Heroes of Mana in 2007. Ishii worked closely with the Vision of Mana team to reimagine familiar monsters, including the iconic rabites, for this latest installment.
