Hellblade 2, the eerie action-adventure game, confirmed its eerie and gory nature in a new trailer revealed at The Game Awards.
The sequel to that artistic masterpiece will be coming exclusively to Xbox and PC, with no release date in sight yet. But the trailer showed us how gory and bloody Senua’s next journey seems to be.
Hellblade 2 showcases an abundance of eerie, gory, close combat, wherein protagonist Senua fiercely battles against an array of delightfully disturbing monsters. Among them are creatures breathing fire or wielding colossal weapons, nearly all towering over Senua’s petite frame. The trailer consistently displayed the game’s top-notch graphics and animations, featuring cinematic, cutscene-like camera angles that bestowed a distinctive visual style upon the combat sequences.
The original game captured the attention of both players and critics for its bold portrayal of individuals living with schizophrenia. It provided an immersive experience, offering insight into the daily life of someone coping with such a challenging illness. The game depicted the voices in a 3D environment, using technology that placed the player in the midst of the character’s mind.
There’s no release date yet for Hellblade 2, but confirmation of its arrival on Xbox and PC through Game Pass is definitely imminent.
