As reported by Variety, Warner Bros announced that the enchanting open world game based on the Wizarding World universe, Hogwarts Legacy, has sold 22 million copies with 2 million of these coming through the holiday season alone.
Warner Bros revealed that “Hogwarts Legacy” accumulated a staggering 707 million hours of gameplay. There were 819 million potions brewed, 1.3 billion magical plants harvested, 593 million magical beasts rescued, and a whopping 4.9 billion dark wizards vanquished within the enchanting halls of the virtual wizarding school.
Hogwarts Legacy, released on February 10th, 2023 for PC, Xbox and PlayStation, shattered numerous records worldwide, solidifying its position as the best-selling and most captivating video game within the Harry Potter and Wizarding World universe. It features an open-world game design where players assume the role of a student navigating the famed hat-selecting Hogwarts Houses, exploring the very grounds where the Harry Potter stories unfolded. As they progress through the game, players lead their independent stories, engaging in battles against dark wizards, solving puzzles, and uncovering mysteries.
