If you’ve been following the JRPG scene lately, you know Nihon Falcom has been cooking. Today, we’re seeing the receipts. The nichely-loved developer just dropped their Q1 financial results (covering October to December 2025), and the numbers are—frankly—insane.
We’re talking about a 150.7% jump in revenue and an eye-watering 670.4% surge in operating profit compared to the same time last year.
The MVP of this report is no surprise: Trails in the Sky the 1st. The remake of the Liberl arc’s beginning has been a massive hit. Since its September release, it hasn’t just fueled domestic sales; it’s been the engine behind a 218.3% increase in licensing revenue.
It turns out that giving fans a modern, high-fidelity entry point into the massive Trails universe was exactly what the new-comers ordered. With voice acting galore and superb graphics, it’s capturing a global audience that previously found the 20-year-old series a bit too daunting to start.
Falcom is in its “Golden Era” of global reach. By prioritizing simultaneous (or near-simultaneous) worldwide releases like the upcoming Ys X: Proud Nordics (Feb 20!) and Ys Memoire: Revelations in Celceta (April), they are finally acting like the major player they’ve always meant to be.
The Trails remake momentum is a juggernaut, will they be able to continue with such success with them releasing Trials in the Sky 2nd this year?
