One of the most exciting announcements from Final Fantasy XIV’s Fan Festival in London is the highly anticipated crossover collaboration between Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy XVI.
Both games are developed by the same passionate team, and this crossover has been eagerly awaited by fans since the release of Final Fantasy XVI back in June of this year. The trailer showcases Meteor battling Ifrit from Final Fantasy XVI, utilizing the same mechanics for which both games are renowned.
From the looks of it, completing the quest will reward the players with Clive’s outfit, as well as the Torgal mount and minion. However, it hasn’t been announced yet how to acquire them.
The quest, as stated by Naoki Yoshida, Producer of Final Fantasy XIV (also Producer of Final Fantasy XVI), will involve players teaming up with Clive. He assured that the story would be accessible to those who haven’t yet experienced the latest title in the series, with only minimal spoilers.
The crossover is slated for release in the 6.5x Patch cycle, which could occur at any point before the launch of Dawntrail in Summer 2024.
