It was revealed online that the domain p4re.jp was registered in Japan on March 20th. Given the name, it is safe to speculate that Atlus’s upcoming flagship announcement will be a remake of their blockbuster Persona 4 Golden.
A couple of years ago, a similar domain, p3re.jp, was registered, and a few months later, Persona 3 Reload was officially announced. While I doubt we will see an announcement within just a few months, it seems likely that a Persona 4 remake is in the works, especially considering its worldwide popularity compared to Persona 1 and Persona 2.
Fans have started speculating about whether Persona 6 is actually in development, but I don’t see why anyone would doubt it. Companies often work on multiple projects simultaneously, and since Atlus just wrapped up Metaphor: ReFantazio—which was in development alongside Persona 3 Reload—it’s only a matter of time before Persona 6 is upon us. In fact, it could even be announced before the Persona 4 remake.
