Moon Studios Unveils “Together” Update: A Co-Op Multiplayer Coming to No Rest for the Wicked

No Rest for The Wicked Together

Moon Studios has officially announced that the highly anticipated “Together” update for their action RPG No Rest for the Wicked will launch on January 22, 2026. This massive content expansion marks a pivotal moment for the Early Access title, introducing the long-awaited cooperative multiplayer mode that allows players to share persistent Realms. To prepare for the launch, the studio has opened a public beta test, available now through December 22, giving existing players a first glimpse at the new systems.

Appropriately titled “Together,” this update fundamentally transforms the solitary experience of Isola Sacra into a shared adventure. Up to four players can band together as “Cerim” warriors in a single, persistent world. Unlike traditional drop-in/drop-out modes where progress might be limited to the host, this update focuses on shared resources and world progression. The expansion also introduces significant gameplay features, including cooperative combat mechanics, new weapon updates, and the ability to build and manage homesteads collaboratively.

No Rest for the Wicked represents a bold new direction for Moon Studios, a developer previously celebrated for the emotionally resonant and critically acclaimed 2D platformers Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps. First revealed to the world at The Game Awards in December 2023, the game signaled the studio’s shift from 2D “Metroidvania” exploration to a gritty, isometric action RPG format. It originally launched into Early Access on PC via Steam on April 18, 2024, promising a “living” painting art style and visceral, precision-based combat that drew favorable comparisons to the Souls genre.

The game casts players as a Cerim, a member of an ancient holy order imbued with mystical powers. They are sworn to eradicate the Pestilence, a terrifying plague that transforms its victims into monsters and threatens to consume the island of Isola Sacra. Amidst the backdrop of a king’s death and an ensuing political power vacuum, players must navigate a treacherous narrative of corruption, battling both the infected and political rivals. The journey sees the Cerim grow from a vulnerable survivor into a master of combat, utilizing a deep system of enchantments, weapon types, and tactical maneuvering.

Currently, No Rest for the Wicked is available exclusively in Early Access on PC via Steam. While the “Together” update is focused on the PC version, Moon Studios has confirmed that a full Version 1.0 release is in development. This full launch will bring the pestilence-ridden world of Isola Sacra to console players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, alongside the complete PC release.
