Capcom has blown the doors off their next major survival horror entry, officially dating Resident Evil Requiem for February 27, 2026. In a massive information dump following the latest Resident Evil Showcase, the publisher revealed deep gameplay mechanics for the dual protagonists, confirmed a simultaneous launch on the Nintendo Switch 2, and unveiled a slew of high-end collaborations.

Here is everything we know about the next chapter in survival horror.

    It's A Dual Interwind Campaigns:

Resident Evil Requiem is built around a “Dual Protagonist” system that offers two distinct flavors of fear. Players can swap between First-Person and Third-Person perspectives at any point, allowing for a customized level of immersion.

Leon S. Kennedy: The Action Veteran

Returning legend Leon Kennedy brings the firepower. His gameplay loop focuses on high-octane combat and “death-defying action.” Investigating a series of suspicious deaths, Leon is equipped for war:

    • New Arsenal: Leon wields a new hatchet for brutal close-quarters combat.

    • Parry & Punish: A refined parry system allows players to time their blocks perfectly.

    • Turn the Tables: In a chaotic twist, Leon can seize weapons from enemies—including chainsaws—to deliver exhilarating finishing moves.

    Grace Ashcroft: The Survivalist

In stark contrast, FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft offers a “spine-tingling survival horror” experience. Her journey begins in a sanatorium overrun with the undead.

    • Resource Scarcity: Grace has limited carrying capacity, forcing players to make critical decisions on what to keep and what to discard.

    • Blood Crafting: Uniquely, Grace can acquire a device to craft vital items using infected blood, adding a risk/reward layer to her survival.

    • The Requiem Revolver: Her signature weapon, a high-powered custom revolver, is described as a “last resort” due to extremely scarce ammunition.

    • Legacy Connection: Grace is the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft (a fan-favorite from the Resident Evil Outbreak series). The story hinges on the keyword “Elpis,” which connects Grace’s past, her mother’s death, and Leon’s current mission.

"Muscle Memory" Zombies & Difficulty Options:

The undead in Requiem are evolving. Capcom revealed that zombies will retain “fixations” from their former lives. Players might encounter a chef obsessively cooking, a janitor polishing mirrors, or a singer who won’t stop performing. These behavioral loops can be exploited to sneak past enemies, adding a stealth-puzzle element to combat.

The game also brings back the tension of the classic era with its Standard (Classic) difficulty, which requires Ink Ribbons to save the game when playing as Grace. For those seeking the story first, a Casual mode offers aim assist and health regeneration.

    Luxury Collaborations & Merchandise:

The Hamilton Watches: Two limited-edition watches (limited to 2,000 units worldwide) modeled after Leon and Grace’s in-game gear will go on sale on launch day.

    Resident Evil Requiem Watches

The Porsche: Leon will drive a custom Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT in-game, designed with 3D printing tech to fit the game’s dark aesthetic.

The Figures: unlike all the other Resident Evils, Resident Evil Requiem doesn’t have a Collector’s Edition and instead, this time around, Capcom is releasing the figures that we normally get in the CE as stand alone for $240 each (one for Leon and one for Grace).

    Resident Evil Requiem Figures

Resident Evil Requiem launches February 27, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam/Epic).

Pre-orders are live now, granting the “Apocalypse” costume for Grace. A Deluxe Edition (featuring extra costumes and weapon skins) and a physical Premium Steelbook Edition are also available for hardcore fans.
