Resident Evil Requiem’s Fourth Trailer Unveils New Characters, Foes and Soul-stirring Nostalgic Locations

    Resident Evil Foruth Trailer

Capcom has released the fourth official trailer and a haunting new set of screenshots for Resident Evil Requiem, providing the deepest look yet at the game’s intertwining narratives. The ninth mainline entry in the legendary series is set to launch on February 27, 2026, promising a revolutionary “dual perspective” experience that bridges the gap between old-school survival horror and modern action.

The latest trailer introduces three pivotal characters who will shape the journey for protagonists Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy:

    • Emily: A frail, pale young girl Grace discovers trapped within the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center. Early gameplay hints suggest she may be more than just a survivor, with ties to the facility’s dark history.

    • Nathan Dempsey: Grace’s supervisor at the FBI. While he appears to support her investigation into the Midwest deaths, community theories are already swirling about his “sketchy” lack of empathy regarding Grace’s traumatic past.

    • Victor Gideon: The primary antagonist and a former Umbrella scientist. Gideon is the architect behind the recent “strange deaths” and appears to be obsessed with Grace’s lineage, specifically her mother Alyssa Ashcroft, a survivor of the original Raccoon City incident.

The fourth trailer sent shockwaves through the fan base by confirming a return to Raccoon City. While the city was famously leveled by a missile strike in 1998, Requiem reveals that the ruins—including a dilapidated Raccoon Police Department (RPD)—are being used for clandestine experiments. Leon Kennedy’s segments will feature him revisiting these “past horrors” as he battles a deteriorating infection of his own, racing to find a cure while fending off enemies with his signature roundhouse kicks.

Capcom is doubling down on the “dual protagonist” hook, ensuring each lead feels like a completely different game. Grace’s chapters, primarily set in the claustrophobic Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center, focus on stealth and a high-stakes Blood Synthesis system where she must use her own resources to craft defensive items. Conversely, Leon’s sections are a showcase for RE Engine’s high-flying action, featuring swappable first and third-person perspectives that can be changed at any time to suit the player’s comfort.

Resident Evil Requiem launches February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
