Bloober’s New Survival Horror Cronos: The New Dawn Showcases New Gameplay Overview

    Cronos The New Dawn Title

Bloober Team, the master minds behind Silent Hill 2 Remake, has unveiled game overview footage of its upcoming survival horror IP, set to release in 2025 for PS5, Xbox, and PC. Inspired by The Thing, Dark, Dead Space, and Dark Souls, the game takes players into an alternate history where the world ended in the 1980s due to a cataclysmic event known as “The Change.”

Players assume the role of a Traveler, one of the few able to survive outside in the post-apocalyptic ruins. Unlike traditional soldiers, Travelers are “divers in time,” capable of jumping back into the past to extract important individuals who didn’t survive the apocalypse. The gameplay reveal highlights a mix of melee combat—allowing players to punch and stomp on enemies—and ranged weaponry, reinforcing the game’s tense, survival-focused approach.

The enemies, known as “Orphans,” are grotesque, flesh-based creatures—the remnants of humanity after The Change. Each Orphan takes on different forms and abilities, with the game featuring a body dismemberment system, emphasizing its The Thing-inspired body horror. While Bloober Team remains cryptic about the presence of aliens, the game’s unsettling atmosphere suggests deeper mysteries lurking beneath its world.

More details, including extended gameplay footage, are expected soon as the game moves closer to its 2025 launch.
