Capcom has officially expanded the reach of its mysterious sci-fi project, launching the PRAGMATA “Sketchbook” demo on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Previously exclusive to PC, this free “vertical slice” marks the first time console players can experience the game’s unique “NASA-punk” world and “hacking-action” combat ahead of its global release on April 24, 2026.
The “Sketchbook” demo transports players to a near-future lunar research station that has fallen into a state of “cold silence.” Players control Hugh, a spacefarer equipped with heavy firearms and a jetpack, alongside Diana, a highly advanced android. The duo must cooperate to survive after the station’s rogue AI identifies them as threats and deploys a variety of armored “Bots” to neutralize them.
The core gameplay centers on a high-stakes synergy: while Hugh provides firepower, Diana must perform real-time hacking mini-games during combat to disable enemy shields and expose their weak points. This “brain-twisting” combination of shooting and tactical puzzle-solving is designed to disrupt traditional muscle memory, offering a fresh take on the third-person shooter genre.
Originally revealed during the PlayStation 5 reveal stream in 2020, PRAGMATA became a subject of internet speculation after suffering multiple indefinite delays. Developed using the RE Engine, the project was reportedly slowed down to “train new graduates” and ensure a high level of technical polish. The game’s return at The Game Awards 2025 finally cemented its current trajectory, confirming that it would be a day-and-date release on the Nintendo Switch 2—a move that highlights Capcom’s aggressive support for Nintendo’s successor hardware.
Capcom has designed the “Sketchbook” demo with high replayability in mind, encouraging players to explore the lunar facility multiple times to uncover hidden features and unexpected interactions that aren’t immediately apparent.
