Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Expands to Xbox Series and Switch 2 This June

Square Enix has officially announced that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will launch for Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 on June 3, 2026. This follows a lengthy period of exclusivity on the PlayStation 5 and a subsequent PC release.

As the second entry in the ambitious remake trilogy, Rebirth follows Cloud Strife and his companions as they escape the dystopian city of Midgar to hunt down Sephiroth across a vast, open world. The game expands the roster with fan-favorites like the ninja Yuffie Kisaragi and the robotic Cait Sith. For the Switch 2 and Xbox versions, Square Enix is including the “Streamlined Progression” feature—a set of optional toggles that provide unlimited HP/MP, maxed-out Limit and ATB gauges, and a 9,999 damage cap, allowing players to focus entirely on the narrative.

Collector-minded fans have a unique incentive to go physical on the Nintendo Switch 2. The first production run of physical copies will include an exclusive Magic: The Gathering — Final Fantasy “Zack Fair” card, featuring variant art by legendary character designer Tetsuya Nomura. While functionally identical to the card found in the standard MTG set, this version is a limited-run collectible for fans of the SOLDIER protagonist.

Coinciding with this expansion, Square Enix has also implemented a permanent price reduction for the existing PlayStation 5 and PC versions as of February 9, 2026. The Standard Edition is now priced at $49.99, with the Digital Twin Pack (which includes Remake Intergrade and Rebirth) now serving as a high-value entry point for $79.99. These moves signal a major push to unify the player base across all platforms ahead of the eventual conclusion to the remake trilogy.
