A playable demo for the upcoming third-person action-adventure game, Hell is Us, is now available for players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It offers the first public hands-on opportunity to explore the game’s unsettling world ahead of its full release this September.
Hell is Us thrusts players into a country ravaged by the dual horrors of civil war and a mysterious supernatural event known as the “Calamity.” (I know, I know.) This cataclysm has given rise to enigmatic creatures that are impervious to modern weaponry.
Players will assume the role of Rémi, a soldier who returns to this tormented land to uncover the secrets of his past accompanied by a drone companion, players will engage in intense, strategic combat that incorporates elements reminiscent of Soulslike games against these otherworldly foes.
A key feature of Hell is Us is its emphasis on exploration and player intuition. The game forgoes traditional navigational aids such as maps, compasses, and quest markers. Instead, players must rely on environmental clues and their own instincts to navigate the semi-open world and piece together the narrative.
The free demo is available for download via the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store, and on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Hell is Us is scheduled for a full launch on September 4, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
